JustScan+ was developed to scan documents quickly, easily, and reliably and save them as PDF files on your iPhone.

The app is designed for users who want to digitize documents without unnecessary extra features, accounts, subscriptions, or advertising.

JustScan+ was developed with a clear focus on ease of use, data minimization, and privacy.

Privacy at a Glance

Protecting personal data is a top priority for JustScan+.

The app is deliberately designed to process as little data as possible. No user account is required to use the app.

Scanned content, recognized text, and created PDF files are processed exclusively for the functionality requested by the user.

JustScan+ does not use personal data for advertising purposes, does not sell data, and does not upload documents to its own servers.

Your documents and data belong exclusively to you.

What Data Is Processed in the App

When using JustScan+, the following content in particular may be processed:

  • document pages captured with the camera
  • image data generated from scanned document pages
  • text recognized through OCR
  • generated PDF files
  • file names as well as the creation date and time of generated documents

This information is used exclusively to create and save the PDF documents requested by the user.

Use of the Camera

JustScan+ requires access to the camera in order to capture documents.

The following applies:

  • camera access is only granted after prior consent by the user
  • the camera is used only when the user actively starts a scanning process
  • without permission, the scanning feature cannot be used
  • captured document pages are processed exclusively to create the requested PDF document

The camera is not used in the background.

Text Recognition (OCR)

JustScan+ can analyze scanned documents using optical character recognition (OCR).

OCR is used to recognize text within scanned documents and create searchable PDF files.

The following applies:

  • text recognition is performed locally on the device
  • recognized text is not transmitted to JustScan+ servers
  • recognized text is not used for advertising, profiling, or analytics purposes
  • OCR processing is used exclusively for the functionality of the respective scan

Storage of Documents

Created PDF files are stored locally in the app’s Documents directory and can be accessed through the device’s Files app.

The user decides whether a document is later moved, shared, exported, or deleted.

JustScan+ does not operate its own cloud service and does not automatically upload scanned documents to external servers.

If the user explicitly shares a document with another app or external service through the sharing feature, this only happens at the user’s request.

No User Accounts

No user account is required to use JustScan+.

The app uses:

  • no registration
  • no login
  • no user profiles
  • no account data
  • no server-side user management

The app can be used immediately after installation.

No Advertising, No Trackers, No Third Parties

JustScan+ uses:

  • no advertising
  • no analytics or tracking services
  • no advertising SDKs
  • no external advertising networks
  • no third parties for user profiling
  • no data sharing with advertising platforms
  • no sale or marketing of personal data

The app was deliberately designed to work without unnecessary external dependencies.

No Sharing with Third Parties

JustScan+ does not independently share personal data, scanned documents, or recognized text with third parties.

Data may only be shared if:

  • the user explicitly initiates sharing through the app’s sharing or export functionality
  • a legal obligation requires disclosure in exceptional circumstances

There is no commercial sharing of data.

Data Storage and User Control

JustScan+ is designed so that documents and personal content remain under the user’s control.

In particular, this means:

  • the app follows the principle of data minimization
  • content is used only for the functionality requested by the user
  • documents and recognized text are not analyzed for advertising purposes
  • no user profiling takes place
  • the user decides how documents are stored, exported, or deleted

Data Security

The app was developed with the goal of supporting privacy and confidentiality as effectively as possible.

Because processing and storage primarily take place locally on the device, a significant part of data security also depends on how the device itself is protected.

Users should therefore secure their device appropriately, for example by using:

  • a device passcode
  • Face ID or Touch ID
  • current iOS system updates
  • secure device settings

User Rights and Control

Users retain control over the documents created in JustScan+.

This includes, in particular, the ability to:

  • view saved PDF files
  • open documents
  • share or export documents
  • move documents
  • delete documents
  • deny camera access or revoke it later

Permissions can be adjusted at any time in the device settings.
